Isolation
Another sense poem
The sound of the last piece of candy rolling around in your Halloween basket
The sight of a cup, in an empty house, they didn't take before they went
The tantalizing scent of a rose in a room full of lilies
The saccharine taste of a sugar cube in a bowl of chillies
The embrace of the last aunt as you leave the reunion
Loneliness has one way out, but many a way in
The sound of the last piece of candy rolling around in your Halloween basket
The sight of a cup, in an empty house, they didn't take before they went
The tantalizing scent of a rose in a room full of lilies
The saccharine taste of a sugar cube in a bowl of chillies
The embrace of the last aunt as you leave the reunion
Loneliness has one way out, but many a way in
Hi, Two of the lines really spoke to me. I thought the analogy of the cup that had been left behind was truly evocative; left me wondering whether it got overlooked or was intentionally left behind, and which would be worse. And the last line was truly amazing.
