A Spoonful Of Sugar

Here is a poem, written in the form of 3 limericks.

They say a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
That that artificial sweetness will simply wipe out your frown
It numbs your tastebuds
Just a saccharine flood
The medicine was just messing around

I won't take sugar; I will take water instead
It won't make you forget the bad taste in your head
It'll wash the sour away
The bittersweet taste will remain
Water prepares you for the medicine ahead

So if you've got me some bad news, some medicine I have to take
Don't sugarcoat the facts, it's not going to numb the ache
So you just let me cry
Tears wash pain by and by
What's left behind is the memories I make
